The first concert of the summer season at Scarborough Downs will feature seven heavy metal bands. Waterfront Concerts announced that Oxxfest, featuring 5 Finger Death Punch; Killswitch Engage; Trivium; Pop Evil; God Forbid; Emmure and Battle Cross, will be held Friday, Aug.10. The concert will begin at noon with local bands playing on a sound stage.

Tickets will go on sale beginning at 10 a.m. on April 27. The $39.50 general admission tickers will be available at ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlet location, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 or at Mark’s Music in Brewer.

Alex Gray, a concert promoter with Waterfront Concerts, the organization hosting the concert series, said several more shows at Scarborough Downs would be announced in the coming weeks.
