A Portland man has been transported to Cumberland County Jail after an early morning break-in at a business on Route 1 in Scarborough.

Scarborough Police received a report of a burglary in process at Xtreme Audio, located at 695 Route 1 at about 7:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16. According to a police media release, witnesses observed a male running from the scene north along Route 1 toward the Rock and Roll Diner. A K-9 unit was used to track the suspect.

Scarborough Det. Sgt. Rick Rouse said the suspect, 38-year-old Kaysean Dayrean Moss of Veranda Street in Portland, was apprehended a short distance from the intersection of Broadturn Road and Route 1.

Moss, who was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief, allegedly gained access to the store by throwing a large rock through the glass front door. He had removed some stereo components. Rouse said the components were recovered, but after an inventory of the store, it appears other items were taken. Those items were not located. Rouse said a vehicle with two males in it was suspected to be involved in the crime as well, but police, as of late Wednesday morning did not have a description of the vehicle.
