The nomination phase of the Great Person Award has been completed and now it’s time to cast your votes. The ballot can be found in the Dec. 28 and Jan. 4 issues of the Scarborough Leader.

Ballots must be returned to the Leader at 1 York Street in Biddeford, Maine 04005 by noon Jan. 11 and the winner will be announced the following week. Here’s a look at the final list:

Sunny Harmon nominates Ellen Parenteau: “Ellen is director of the Scarborough Food Pantry and spends hours and days shopping and distributing food to less fortunate families.”

Sam Kelley nominates Sybil Riemensnider: “Sybil, a Scarborough resident, was a founding member in 1997 of the Food Cupboard in South Portland that services residents of Scarborough, South Portland and Cape Elizabeth. She is now the upaid director of this food bank that feeds hundreds of folks every month and has for 15 years. She is fundraiser, food-gatherer, volunteer coordinator, public relations specialist, etc. She puts in up to 40 hours a week to help those in need. She is a stick- ler on making sure the food distributed is healthy and that all recipients are treated with deep respect. I don’t know if I have met a person who gives back so much to her fellow man.”

Julie Fournier nominates Patty Bolduc: “Patty is the nurse at Scarborough Middle School and is adored by her students, their parents and her co-workers. I am fortunate enough to be considered her friend. Patty is the most selfless and generous person I know. She delights in every child she takes care of (and the healthy ones, too) and never walks by you without a smile or a hug. Her generosity to our community is second to none. She is a treasure of a person.”
