MBDA concert band festival, 2 to 8:30 p.m., Scarborough High School auditorium. Twenty-four high school and middle school bands perform throughout two-day event.

Intermediate Computers, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Scarborough High School. Must preregister with Scarborough Adult Learning Center at 730-5040. Instructor Becky Test will teach the three night class to help expand computer knowledge to include creating folders, finding files, downloading attachments, uploading files in email and much, much more.

Just Once Guitar for Busy People, 6:30 to 9 p.m., Scarborough High School. Must preregister with Scarborough Adult Learning Center at 730-5040. Crash course is for those who want to learn to play guitar but don’t have the time. Learn basic strumming, tuning and playing simple tunes.

Tuesday, April 9

Mother Goose story time, 10:30 a.m., Scarborough Public Library meeting room. Ages birth and up with an adult. Nursery rhymes, movement activities, songs, finger play and simple picture books. FMI, call 883-4723.

One-Night Jewelry Making Workshop - Twisted Double Strand Necklace, 6 to 8:30 p.m., Scarborough High School. Must preregister with Scarborough Adult Learning Center at 730-5040. Learn the craft of making this intricate necklace during this one night workshop.

Strategies for Avoiding Illness and Optimizing Health, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Scarborough High School. Must preregister with Scarborough Adult Learning Center at 730-5040. Instructor Dr. Christine Maguire will help increase wellness through positive selftalk, exercise and food choices.

Leave this workshop with all the necessary information and options available for green funerals and burials. Offered as a community service by Jones, Rich and Hutchins.

Intro to QuickBooks, 6 to 8 p.m., Scarborough HighSchool. MustpreregisterwithScarborough Adult Learning Center at 730-5040. Instructor Kirk Allen is a CPA in practice for over 25 years and has taught QuickBooks for over five years. He’ll teach the basics of this accounting system that is perfect for small businesses.
