Saturday, April 27

Italian dinner, 4 to 6 p.m., American Legion Post 76, 42 Manson Libby Road, Scarborough. Menu includes spaghetti, meatballs, lasagna, salad, bread, desserts. FMI, call 883-3902.

Blue Point Chowder Challenge, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Blue Point Congregational Church, 236 Pine Point Road, Scarborough. Residents invited to participate. Chowders will be judged by guest chefs. Outdoor sports event, 2 to 6 p.m., Cornerstone Baptist Church, Scarborough. Exhibits, seminars and dinner. Free and open to public, ages 10 and older. Seminars include turkey calling and hunting, taxidermist display, Maine Inland Fish and Wildlife information and Q and A, archer demonstration, deer hunting tips, camping tips. Tuesday, April 30

Offering Support to Older Adults, 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. at an off-site Scarborough location. Free, but must preregister with Southern Maine Agency on Aging by calling 396-6541. Four-part workshop will cover a broad range of topics including medical, financial, living choices and many more considerations that older adults need to address.

Mother Goose story time, 10:30 a.m., Scarborough Public Library meeting room. Ages birth and up with an adult. Nursery rhymes, movement activities, songs, finger play and simple picture books. FMI, call 883-4723.
