School budget stretches residents’ limits

To the editor:

It has been my observation from some of the articles in the Leader that your newspaper was in favor of increasing the school budget as presented. It is also my belief that a newspaper is obligated to present both sides of an issue.

Those who voted against the school budget did so, for many, I believe, because their income could not stretch beyond its present limits. An increase would have meant, perhaps, taking the money from food or heating, or health needs.

For those who voted for the increase or thought the increase was not enough, I have a perfect solution. Please make an extra donation to the school budget this year. The Scarborough school district will thank you for it.
