Relay team sets state record



Swimmers, from left, Charlotte Pratt, Emily Ecker, Elizabeth Saltz and Leah Desveaux set a state record in the girls 12 and under 400 meter freestyle relay at the Maine Swimming Long Course Championships held at the Canada Games Aquatic Center in St. John, New Brunswick, July 25-27. Their time of 4:50.50 beat the previous state record of 4:53.86. The girls swim with the Portland Porpoise Swim Club and are pictured with head coach Matt Baxter. Dexveaux, Ecker and Pratt are Scarborough residents. Saltz is from Westbrook.
