Taxes keep going up ‘like money grows on trees’

To the editor:

Will the tax and spend never stop? I’m a disabled vet living on a pension and I wish I could raise my income as easily as you people raise the town’s.

When I bought this place eight years ago the taxes were reasonable. Now, they keep going up and up like money grows on trees. My taxes are now $2,800 on a piece of property that three different appraisers have valued from $195,000 to $200,000.

Our assessor, Paul Lesperance, did the best he could with it, but, in my opinion my taxes are still too high.

If you raise them again I will take it to the state appeals board.
