Project of the year

Martin’s Point Health Care Director of Marketing and Communications Steve Amendo, left, accepts an award from Scarborough Economic Development Corporation board member Rick Shinay after Martin’s Point was named SEDCO’s 2017 Project of the Year. In January, the heath care provider opened a 18,000-square-foot center at 153 Route 1, the former site of Scarborough Commons, which burned in September 2014. Aside from providing primary care, since opening, the facility has hosted a number of senior citizen activities, including lunches, bingo sessions, yoga and balance classes, health seminars and drop-in days.
