Ice time

A group of Scarborough students play pickup hockey afterschool Thursday, Jan. 18. The ice rink, located next to the high school turf field, is open to the public, weather dependent, from dawn to 9 p.m. The warming hut will not be offered on a daily basis this winter after funding was pulled from this year’s budget. The ice rink and school athletic fields will be the site of the town’s annual WinterFest, which will feature pond hockey and broomball tournaments 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2 and a series of ice and snow events from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 3.
