WinterFest 2018 is scheduled for Friday, Saturday

Bundle up and join us for some good old-fashioned winter fun at the 29th annual free Scarborough WinterFest event.

When: Friday, Feb. 2 – 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 3 – 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Outdoor Municipal Ice Rink, 20 Municipal Drive, Scarborough.

Admission: Free.

Friday evening will consist of a middle school pond hockey tournament, followed by a competitive town of Scarborough employee broomball tournament.

Free skate will be open to the public during the entire event with a bonfire and hot cocoa and s’mores provided by Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution.

The evening will be capped off with a fireworks show provided by Atlas Fireworks.

On Saturday we will be running many of our traditional WinterFest events, along with a few new additions.

Activities include skating competitions (speed, backwards, and slalom skating), Score-O, cardboard sled races, a wood carving demonstration, human foosball, human dog sled races, disc golf, and a kids’ carnival corner. We will also have free hot cocoa and s’mores on Saturday provided by cPort Credit Union.

As always, the ice will also be open to free skate during the entire event and Frosty will be stopping by for a visit.

Scarborough Rotary will also be providing concessions on both event dates.
