Heidi’s House is one of Maine’s privately-owned National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Centers

It was in 1988 that Heidi MacAllister-McDonald realized she could not find quality child care for her own children so she began a journey to create it. That journey led the community to Heidi’s House Child Care Center. The center has served more than a generation of children – infants through school age.

Although she valued children learning to problem solve, finding their voice and power, learning to make decisions and experiencing hands-on learning, MacAllister McDonald recognizes the evolution of her business is in part to the highest quality teachers and administrators who work with the children.

Over time the educators continue to create meaningful connections, bring the joy of play to the classroom and build a true sense of community with the children and families.

As Heidi’s House celebrates 30 years in the community, it is with gratitude and appreciation for all who have been part of this journey.
