Glenn Angell

Glenn P. Angell 54, of Scarborough passed away suddenly, but peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

Glenn was born in Portland, the son of David Angell and Sandra Nichols. He was raised in Kennebunk and was a graduate of the Kennebunk High School class of 1983.

Glenn joined the United States Coast Guard in 1983 and served for nine years. He retired in 1992 as a BM3.

During that time while on duty in the Bahamas, he met the love of his life, Sylvie Claire Lemieux. They married on Sept. 19,1992 and recently celebrated 25 years of marriage.

In 1996 he earned his Merchant Marine License. On Aug. 8, 1997 he graduated from Broward Community College with an associates in nursing. From 1997 to 2000 Glenn worked at North Ridge Medical Center in Pompano Beach, Florida.

In 2000, the family moved to Maine and Glenn began his career as an RN on the Cardiac Intensive Care unit and subsequently with the Special Care Unit at Maine Medical Center.

He earned his BSN from University of Southern New Hampshire in July of 2017.

Glenn was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends. Glenn, Sylvie and Caden loved to travel and enjoyed many adventures in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Mexico and camping in the great state of Maine.

Glenn was an outdoorsman and was passionate about hunting, fishing, ATV-ing and snowmobiling. He was an avid bow hunter and participated in Hunters for the Hungry.

His most recent passion was tuna fishing and he landed his first tuna of the season last week after a 12-hour battle with his fishing buddy, Jeff.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Sylvie Lemieux Angell; son, Caden Angell; his best friends, Buckley and Maisey; his mother, Sandra P. Nichols; father, David L. Angell and step-mother, Elizabeth Angell; his sister, Kimberly Pickering and her children, Hannah, Emily, Meghan and Dustin Seymour; his stepbrother, Rick Heikkinen and wife Mary and their three children Elizabeth, Sam and Will; his step-sister, Darlene Heikkinen and husband, Bill Davis and their children Ben and Olivia; Father and mother in-law Maurice and Lorraine Lemieux Sr.;sister in law Liane and husband Sylvain Girard and their daughter Mireille; and brother in-law, Maurice Lemieux, Jr..

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, July 29.
