Town hires KRT Appraisal for reval

The town of Scarborough will conduct a town-wide revaluation of all residential properties, with new values becoming effective fiscal year 2019-2020.

Scarborough last completed a townwide revaluation in 2005. It is important to have a revaluation to ensure that town assessments reflect current market values.

The town hired KRT Appraisal to complete the project. Starting October 2018, Data Collectors from KRT Appraisal will visit each property to conduct an inspection.

The town is asking for cooperation as it is in the best interest of all property owners to permit access for inspections to ensure all information is accurate.

Data collectors will have photo identification and information will be registered with the police department.

Information about the data collectors and a map showing which neighborhoods are being inspected will be available on the assessing page of the town of Scarborough website.

For more information or to share concerns about the revaluation, contact the town assessing office.

The assessing department is open to the public 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Friday.

The office can be reached at 730- 4060, or by visiting the lower level of town hall, room 25.
