Empty Bowl Project

Scarborough High School will host an Empty Bowl luncheon Friday, Dec. 21, after the holiday chorus concert. The Empty Bowl Project is an international project that raises money to feed the hungry. The basic premise is that guests are served soup in a handmade bowl in exchange for a cash donation to fight hunger. Guests keep their bowl as a reminder that someone’s bowl is always empty. Students in the alternative education program, staff, and faculty worked all semester to make and decorate the bowls for the event. For $10, participants receive a bowl, soup and a roll. There will also be raffles for handmade platters and serving bowls. All proceeds will be donated to Project G.R.A.C.E. Participants are invited to attend the holiday concert at 10 a.m. and stay for the luncheon at 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 21.
